cogKnit - Designed for Safe, Open-Ended Play.

Our mission

To give every child a joyful, curiosity-filled beginning.

Through thoughtfully designed play, empowering women, and building communities where childhood is respected, exploration is celebrated, and every child feels safe to wonder. We help children make sense of the world through exploration - and help adults create the conditions in which childhood can flourish.

What we believe

01

We Respect Childhood

Childhood is not a race to adulthood. Children deserve time to wonder, explore, imagine, move and make sense of the world at their own pace. We trust children's innate curiosity rather than directing every moment of their play.

02

We Design for Human Development

Play is not a break from learning - it is how young children learn. Knowledge grows from lived experience, not the other way around. We design companions that nurture curiosity, creativity, resilience, empathy and the lifelong ability to learn.

03

We Empower Women

Children thrive when communities thrive. We create meaningful opportunities for women through flexible work, craftsmanship, leadership and entrepreneurship. Our Motherboard is our network of mothers - every product yarned with a mother's love, passed from one mother to another.

04

We Respect the Planet

The future we are creating for children should also be the future they inherit. What planet are we passing on when a childhood begins with plastic? Sustainability begins at the design stage - materials and processes that are safe for children, considerate of the environment, and made to last.

05

We Support Parents

Parents shouldn't have to become entertainers to raise curious children. We design products that naturally invite exploration, reducing the pressure to constantly create activities or reach for a screen.

06

We Build Communities, Not Just Products

Children grow through relationships. Healthy childhoods are nurtured by connected families, engaged educators and shared experiences. Our goal is a culture of curiosity and belonging - not simply selling toys.

07

We Lead with Love, Respect and Trust

Every child deserves to feel safe, seen and understood. Inspired by the warmth of a grandmother's home, we are guided by playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy - with children, parents, educators, makers and one another.

Made by hands. Meant to be held.

From one mother's hands to another.

Every cogKnit begins with an idea and ends with someone's hands. Our Motherboard is our network of mothers and makers across India - women who stitch, weave and finish every companion we send out.

We work this way not simply because handmade feels beautiful, but because we believe meaningful products should create meaningful livelihoods too.

A mother making a play companion for another mother's child. A product carrying the care of one pair of hands into another home.

From one mother's hands to another. From one phase of childhood to the next.

A safe space, a trusted child

If adults can provide a safe environment at home - and give a child the freedom to explore anything and everything within it, with thoughtful invisible boundaries - it creates magic for both child and parent.
